San Francisco Christian School (SFCS) is deeply rooted in the mission and ministry of Calvary Baptist Church, San Francisco. As a ministry of the church, SFCS operates as an extension of its commitment to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and nurturing discipleship within the local community and abroad.
Incorporated into Calvary Baptist Church’s ministry nearly four decades ago, SFCS has consistently reflected the church’s dedication to providing a Christ-centered education that integrates faith and learning. This enduring partnership fosters an environment where students grow spiritually, academically, and socially, grounded in the Truth of God’s Word.
Since 1984, the church leadership, including its pastoral staff, deacon board, and congregation, have actively supported the school to ensure its alignment with the church’s doctrinal beliefs and spiritual mission. This connection reinforces SFCS as a vibrant part of Calvary Baptist Church’s ministry, equipping students to serve Christ in their families, communities, and the world.
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the plenary, verbally inspired Word of God.
The Godhead
We believe that the Godhead eternally exists in three persons.
God the Father
We believe in God the Father, perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, measureless in power.
Jesus Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ as the eternal and only begotten Son of God.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the Holy Spirit.
SATAN
We believe that Satan is a fallen cherub and that he is the unholy god of this age.
HUMAN NATURE
We believe that all men are by nature and by choice sinners, but that “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
THE CHURCH
We believe in the Church - a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and of which all regenerated people are members.
ASSURANCE OF SALVATION
We believe that it is the privilege of all who are born again by the Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ as revealed in the Scriptures, to be constantly assured of their salvation.
CHRISTIAN LIVING
We believe that we are called with a holy calling to walk in and after the Spirit rather than in the flesh.
CREATION
We believe that God created the world in six literal twenty-four-hour days and that man was created in the image of God and not by the process of Evolution.
THE RETURN OF CHRIST
We believe that the physical return of Jesus Christ is imminent.
INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY
We believe that every human being is responsible to God alone in all matters of faith.
BIBLICAL SEPARATION
We believe that the church should be true to the teaching of God's Word and should separate itself from any church, organization, or individual practicing apostasy.
SANCTITY OF MARRIAGE
We believe in the sanctity of marriage between a man and woman until death.
SANCTITY OF LIFE
We believe in the sanctity of life.
