A WEEKLY PAUSE TO REFOCUS ON WHAT MATTERS MOST

At San Francisco Christian School, chapel isn’t just another school activity—it’s a vital part of our students’ spiritual formation. Each week, students gather by division (elementary, middle, and high school) for a time of worship, teaching, and reflection centered on God’s Word. Led by pastors, guest speakers, teachers, and even students themselves, chapel is a chance to step away from the day-to-day and be reminded of who God is, who we are, and what we’re called to as followers of Christ.

Each year, our chapel programming follows a prayerfully chosen theme that reflects biblical truth and speaks to the spiritual needs of each age group. From learning about God’s character in elementary school to wrestling with identity and purpose in high school, every message is designed to meet students where they are—and point them to Jesus.

We believe students don’t just need to know Scripture—they need to experience it in community. That’s what makes weekly chapel a cornerstone of student life.

MOMENTS TO SHAPE THEIR FAITH

GUEST SPEAKERS WHO INSPIRE & EQUIP—We invite trusted Christian leaders—pastors, missionaries, athletes, authors, and alumni—to speak into our students’ lives throughout the year. These guests bring real-world perspective, gospel-centered encouragement, and often powerful testimonies of how faith intersects with life, leadership, and calling. From nationally recognized voices to homegrown heroes, each speaker brings something unique to our students’ spiritual journeys.
SPIRITUAL EMPHASIS WEEKS—Once or twice a year, we take a deeper dive through our Spiritual Emphasis Weeks. These are intentional, multi-day series designed to renew and ignite students’ faith. With extended worship, focused messages, and time for prayer and response, these weeks have become milestone moments for many of our students—times when they’ve surrendered their lives to Christ, heard His voice more clearly, or taken the next step in their walk with Him.
STUDENT INVOLVEMENT & WORSHIP TEAMS—High school students are not just attendees—they’re leaders. From planning worship sets to sharing devotionals or testimonies, students have opportunities to lead their peers in worship and truth. Our worship teams—made up of passionate, musically gifted students—serve faithfully each week, using their talents to create a space where the whole school can encounter God.
